 Hula is Healthy (and Fun)

Tuesday Afternnons in Trillium A from 1:00 to 1:45 pm. Instructor Kumu Ka’au Ahina of hula halau Ka Pa Hula MAkani Kolanahe. “According to research at the University of Hawaii, learning hula can lower blood pressure and help rehabilitate patients after heart attacks or cardiac surgery. Low-intensity hula has a metabolic equivalent value higher than ballroom dancing, and can offer a workout on par with tennis or volleyball. It’s a great way to maintain flexibility and improve cardiac function. And it’s a lot more fun than running on a treadmill.”
